The CVI procedure consists of an initial visit with additional examinations and a decision to the most suitable support product

  • Initial visit. The patient's personal data are noted and his or her requirements are detected, as are those of the family and the social environment. An action plan is then designed based on these requirements, the diagnosis, previous medical examinations and the evaluated degree of dependence.
  • Additional examinations. Speech therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy examinations can be carried out to evaluate such aspects as language, positioning, movement and activities of daily living.
  • Decision. When all the information has been gathered, the team of professionals meets to evaluate which support product is most appropriate and to reach a joint decision. The support products may be available on the market (computers, walkers, sling lifts, cutlery, wheelchairs, etc.), may be made by the therapists themselves (dry-wipe boards, splints, etc.) or designed and made to measure at collaborating centres.
  • Technical report. Justifies the acquisition of the support product and mentions any subsidies from the public administration.
