Several companies sign an agreement with AVI to be CVI partners

Alcatel-Lucent, Fagor Electrodomésticos, I2Cat Foundation, Roca, Schneider Electric and Vodafone have signed an agreement of collaboration with the Association for Independent Living (AVI). These companies and leading institutions in innovation are now partners of the Centre for Independent Living (CVI), the first centre that joins home automation, assistance and research for dependent or disabled people.

Representatives from the partner companies, the UPC and the AVI team

The signers of the agreement stated that their participation in the project is driven by the firm conviction that the success of new technologies lies in their capacity to be accessible and useful to improve the quality of life, especially of those that suffer some type of dependence or disability.

The partners, together with the Catalonia Polytechnic University (UPC) and the CVI laboratory will carry out R&D and innovation projects, as well as transfers and validation of technical aids and new technologies for the promotion of the autonomy of dependent or disabled people. The CVI lab will offer services to dependent users and also to companies and institutions.
